Season Outlook

The theme for your 2016 Redondo Volleyball Team is “Perfect Effort.”  With five returning starters and plenty of athletes vying for playing time, these athletes are competing in practice as hard as any team Redondo has ever had.  These Sea Hawks are looking forward to continuing the winning tradition at RUHS.  All of the athletes in the program have spent countless hours in the off-season lifting weights, doing plyometrics, and playing beach volleyball to train for this year.  No matter how the season unfolds, the coaching staff would like to thank the players, their families, the administration, and the community for their support.

With the start of the new school year comes another exciting season of boys’ volleyball. Our boys have been practicing all summer preparing for another competitive season under the

direction of Coach Avery, and his coaching staff. One of the greatest perks of being the RUHS high school principal is cheering on our Division I athletic teams. I am proud to be principal of a school with such a strong athletic program!

Several years ago, I was an assistant principal at RUHS. It is excit-ing to be back! Walking into the new small gym, seeing our facili-ties and watching our students compete ignites a spark in me that I know many of you feel. Even more impressive than our boys’ vol-leyball victories is their sportsmanship on and off the court. They model the principles of integrity, respect, responsibility and fairness - all key ingredients to “Victory with Honor.” The success of our ath-letic programs is largely due to parent and community support. Your dedication to our students and school is priceless.

I look forward to seeing you in the stands. Go Sea Hawks!

Andy Saltsman Athletic Director

Hey Sea Hawk fans, it is that great time of the year again, for Sea Hawk spring sports to begin. We enter a new season with high expectations and commitment to excellence.

As one of the premier athletic communities in the South Bay I would hope that we would show respect for all opponents, coaches, spectators and officials.

The true goal of high school athletics is to educate. It is about learning the values taught by athletics, especially, respect that sets school sports apart from other levels of competition. It is the reason why school sports exist.

The Sea Hawks have a rich tradition of excellence on the field as well as off the field. Please assist us in upholding this tradition as you
attend the numerous contests on and off campus in support of
Sea Hawk athletes.

Special thanks to the parents, coaches,  and especially the athletes for all of your time and commitment in making Redondo Union High School a special place. Best of luck to all of our teams as their season begins and come out to support the countless athletes that contribute to our excellent athletic program.
